A BIN lorry crashed into a wall last week causing significant damage to a garage.
Residents of Prince Arthur Street ran outside to see what had happened when they heard a crash last Tuesday (May 3) morning.
Barnsley Council’s executive director Matt Gladstone said: "An accident involving a Barnsley Council refuse collection vehicle occurred on Gawber Road and Prince Arthur Street around 8.15am on Tuesday.
"An investigation is currently underway to find the cause of the accident that resulted in a collision with a boundary wall and garage. No one was hurt.
"The incident was attended immediately by waste management services and our health and safety officer, who following a site inspection, arranged for our building control department to check the stability of the garage to make the area safe.
"The council insurers will cover the damage following a claim being made by the householder.”
