HEARTLESS VANDALS have caused £18,000 worth of damage to play equipment at Grimethorpe park - and the council won't be able to replace it.
The council said will have to remove the equipment completely as it's unsafe.
A spokesperson said: "We spent £10,000 making improvements to this area only 12 months ago.
"We believe that the damage was caused by a wheelie bin being placed underneath the climbing frame and set on fire at around midnight last Thursday."
