BARNSLEY booked a play-off spot yesterday after thrashing champions Wigan 4-1 away from home.
The Reds travelled to the Latics knowing that a win - barring a major swing in goal difference - would guarantee them sixth position in League One.
Will Grigg's 28th of the season for the champions was overhauled by Sam Winnall's spot-kick and a close-range finish in the first half.
Captain Conor Hourihane's strike and Josh Brownhill's free-kick capped the win after the break.
Barnsley will take on Walsall in the play-off semi-finals, with the first leg taking place at Oakwell this Saturday (May 14).
