WORK will start on changes to the Birdwell interchange roundabout this month.
The council has announced that the roundabout will be subject to changes in an attempt to ease traffic congestion in the area.
Some trees around the existing roundabout have been cut back in preparation for the work.
Barnsley Council has now confirmed that funding for the project has been signed off, with work due to start this month.
It is unclear how long the project will last.
