SEA cadets from Barnsley will be leading the Queen's Jubilee barge down the Thames as part of the London celebrations.

The group from TS Diomede will lead the Gloriana down the Thames on June 3 in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee.

The huge procession will include over 1,000 vessels sail down the Thames - in a pageant that hasn't been seen in the country since 1717 - and go in a diamond formation on a 11km route from Wandsworth to Greenwich.

Commanding Officer CPO (SCC) Caroline Devonport said: “Its an absolute honour for cadets from Barnsley to be travelling to the capital to take part in the Jubilee celebrations, it really is a once in a life time opportunity.”
