The number of council houses sold through the Right to Buy scheme have increased.
Papers for the council’s audit committee meeting last Wednesday revealed Right to Buy figures have increased throughout 2015/16, with a total of 319 applications being received to date and 148 progressing to completion.
Right to Buy allows most council tenants to buy their council home at a discount.
In 2011/12 the number sold through the scheme was 40, rising to 130 in 2014/15 following an increase in the discount, which can be up to a maximum of £77,000.
