PLAY equipement in Thurnscoe Park will be refurbished thanks to a £22,000 donation.

The Friends of Thurscoe Park will use the cash from a Public Open Space Contribution to refurbish existing play equipment, provide security gates, buy a secure shed for tools and put a new World War One memorial bench in place.

The cash is to help volunteers with their ongoing development work.

Paul Hussey, Interim Service Director for Communities, said: “Thanks to the dedication of the Friends Group, Thurnscoe Park has remained an excellent place to visit, and with this allocation of S106 funds they will be able to do much more good work; ensuring Thurscoe park and its facilities can be enjoyed by the community for many years to come.”
