TEMPORARY traffic lights are in place near Silkstone after a land slip.
A recent routine inspection of the A628 Barnsley Road, Noblethorpe, uncovered some ground movement on the road.
The council says it has had to close the west bound lane for safety reasons.
The council says its officers are working hard to assess the damage and it is anticipated that the lane will remain closed for several months while a solution is found and works to repair the damage are completed.
Matthew Gladstone, Executive Director, Place, said: “Barnsley Council apologises for any inconvenience cause by this issue and we will provide updates via the council’s social media accounts. It is our priority to make the road safe and reopen as soon as possible.”
