A HOUSING DEVELOPMENT firm has been working with a Barnsley primary school to tackle the issue of litter.
Berneslai Homes have been working in partnership with Birkwood Primary School in Cudworth.
The problem of litter in the area was highlighted as a problem in the Berneslai Homes annual (STAR) customer satisfaction survey.
Berneslai Homes’ Cudworth Housing Management Team and Customer Engagement Officer held a session with the School Council to explain about their role, before completing a mini estate walkabout and a litter pick, which identified sweet wrappers being the biggest problem around the school.
The School Council launched a poster competition for all pupils with a theme of tackling litter. The top three winning posters have been professionally printed and will be distributed to local businesses around Cudworth.
