A THIRD of people who suspect child abuse do nothing about it, according to national findings.
The stat comes after a campaign aiming to crackdown on child abuse was backed by Barnsley Council.
The Council is supporting 'Together, we can tackle child abuse’ launched by the Department for Education, which aims to encourage members of the public to report child abuse and neglect.
In 2014/15, more than 400,000 children in England were supported because someone noticed they needed help. However national findings indicate that a third of people who suspect child abuse do nothing about it.
