A SPONSORED walk along the Trans Pennine Trail is to be held by a health charity at the end of May.
Reflections Art in Health are running the 10k walk on May 27, starting at the Old Moor RSPB Café at 10am and finishing at Encaustic Art Plus and Creative Workshop at the Elsecar Heritage Centre around 2.30-3pm.
Spokesman Tony Russell said: “As a long distance walker myself, I know the value walking can have, both physically and mentally. Mental ill health affects one in four people and Reflections Art in Health Charity promotes the creative arts as an aid to recovery, and we need your help to enable us to support more people.”
On the route, there will be things like pieces of art to stop and admire and a sing-along and live music at the Elephant and Castle pit-stop and finally getting arty with Brian Nelson using wax and unusual techniques with an iron and hotplate.
