FREE dog chipping events are being run ahead of a change in law that intends to cut down a rise in strays.
From April 6 every dog owner will have to chip their animal - those who don't could be fined up to £500.
Barnsley Council has teamed up with Dogs Trust to offer a series of free microchipping sessions for dogs.
