A COMPENSATION plan is being put in place to help manage the disruption to market trader's businesses while redevelopment work is underway.
The Better Barnsley scheme will see a complete overhaul of the market in the town centre.
Barnsley Council is proposing to offer compensation to certain traders that will help to reduce their annual fees - it is expected to cost around £114,000 in one year.
The report says it will " significantly help to retain traders during the disruption of the redevelopment."
