A MAN who was missing from home for over a week has been found by police in Whitby.

Ben Hey, 25, went missing last week and his worried family and friends joined police to launch a campaign to bring him home which had thousands of local people showing their support.

Ben was found by police in Whitby. Family member Steve Hey wrote on We Are Barnsley's wall to say thankyou to everyone for their support.

He wrote: "He doesn't know much about what he's been doing for the last week, other than he has done a lot of walking, he's exhausted, and a little confused and his ankles are sore from the amount of walking he's done.

"Absolutely massive thank you to everyone that has helped over the last week, the support really has been staggering and a big help to us as a family. Makes you proud to be from Barnsley when you see people pulling together to help like that."

Family members created a Facebook group which had almost 20,000 people join in to show their support to find Ben. They also leafleted Barnsley and Leeds in their bid to find him.
