A BARNSLEY woman who is a world respected Egyptologist has a new series starting on the BBC.
Joann Fletcher stars in a four-part documentary which airs from January 4.
Prof Fletcher has loved Egypt since she was a little girl. She recalled looking at photos in her parents’ history books and also researching the subject at Barnsley library.
She added: “I love absolutely everything about Egypt - there is nothing I don’t like.
“Barnsley library was brilliant - I must have taken out every book on Egypt.”
