A COLLEGE student has led a festive project and collected 50 shoeboxes crammed with goodies to send to poor children.
Alix Beaumont led the Operation Christmas Child campaign at Barnsley College. The campaign - run by Samaritan's Purse - has been sending gift-filled shoeboxes around the world since 1990.
Alix, 70, of Innovation Way, Wilthorpe, led the students and staff in creating over 50 shoeboxes filled with books, soap, socks and toiletries to go to children aged two to nine years.
