PENSIONERS are being reminded to get vaccinated against flu to protect themselves against the illness.

People aged 65 and over, those with chronic respiratory illnesses such as asthma, chronic heart, liver, kidney or neurological disease, diabetes and pregnant women can get the jabs done at phatmacies and GPs.

Mayor of Barnsley Coun Brian Mathers said: "It’s really important that people get the flu jab this year to protect themselves against catching flu and passing it on to others."
