REGULAR patrols in problem areas of Cudworth are said to have successfully clamped down on problems with antisocial behaviour.
Residents had complained about youths congregating around the shops on Barnsley Road and Dorothy Hyman Stadium.
Verbal abuse, intimidating behaviour and criminal damage have been a mainstay at the hotspots but now Barnsley Council, which has been working with South Yorkshire Police during recent weeks, say officers’ regular patrols - which became a local policing priority - have improved the situation.
Coun Jenny Platts said: “We have increased activity over the last few weeks, with additional patrols of the car park in the evenings and also on Barnsley Road. We haven’t received any further complaints within the past three weeks.”
