A ROYAL themed jubilee tea party is being held in the town hall with invites issued to anyone celebrating their 60th birthday or wedding anniversary this year.

The Mayor Elect of Barnsley, Dorothy Higginbottom, will hold the jubilee tea party in the Town Hall on June 14 and she is inviting anyone who celebrated their own landmark occasion in the same year The Queen celebrates six decades to on the throne. She said: “We want to give people a day to remember, where they can share some of their favourite memories of the last sixty years."
