A SPATE of car crimes across Barnsley has prompted police to issue a warning.
Detective Chief Inspector Deb Mahmood said there's been an increase in the number of car break-ins over the last few weeks.
“What’s more concerning is that those vehicles being targeted are those that have left valuables or other items on display inside.
“There have been some reports of cars having their windows smashed and a relatively small amount of money taken, because it was left on display.“
The police have issued reminders to not leave valuables in view.
