A PUBLIC toilet has been closed in Darfield as part of budget cuts.

The urinal wall on Barnsley Road has closed because the land it is on has been sold to a developer.

NPS has fenced off the area and signs have been put up advising of its closure.

Coun Roy Miller said: “The results of our cuts to services due to continued government cuts to council budgets, have hit us hard and although closing a public toilet is regrettable, it’s unavoidable due to our financial circumstances.”
