THE future of a GP surgery which treats 3,300 patients has been safeguarded after months of uncertainty.
Brierley Medical Centre, on Church Drive, will be taken over by the Barnsley Healthcare Federation - which is made up of 18 GP practices across the borough - from December 1.
However, no new doctor for Shafton branch will be found.
