VOLUNTEERS have appealed for help at local foodbanks as figures show they have helped over 5,000 needy people since they set up.
Foodbanks at the Gateway churches in Barnsley and New Lodge were set up three years ago and they are now looking for donations of food for Christmas and for volunteers to help out.
