GO-AHEAD has at last been given for a £4 million scheme to revive Hoyland town centre.
Developer Resilienti has been given permission to develop three sites - land off Duke Street, the market place and the town hall.
The proposals involve demolishing the former health centre at Duke Street to create a 79 space pay and display public car park.
The existing market area will also be demolished to make way for a new food store, a 78-space car park and landscaping.
The town hall will be re-cladded and a new entrance foyer created with new balconies to the back and a single story extension with three retail units.
In the new market place there will be 30 permanent stalls, seven retail kiosks, a market store, toilets and a 26-space public/trader car park.
