MORE places in Barnsley will benefit from free wi-fi thanks to a £54,000 grant.

The cash - from Arts Council England - will mean all main libraries will provide free wi-fi for those using a mobile device.

It will be up and running by March.

Coun Jenny Platts, Cabinet Spokesperson for Communities, said: ““I hope that the investment will help to tackle digital exclusion and encourage more people to use and enjoy their local libraries.”

Libraries set to receive the wi-fi include Cudworth, Darfield, Dodworth, Grimethorpe, Hoyland, Mapplewell, Penistone, Roundhouse, Royston, Thurnscoe, Wombwell and Worsbrough.
