BARNSLEY Hospital has been praised for their dementia friendly initiatives at a national care awards.
The hospital was chosen as one of the top five in the Best Dementia Friendly Hospital category.
Hospitals across the country were asked to submit applications about their initiatives for the sixth National Dementia Care awards.
Victoria Faxon-Wastnage, who is a dementia nurse specialist at Barnsley Hospital, said: “It is fantastic news that the hospital has been recognised for the work being done in dementia care.
"We are working incredibly hard to become a dementia friendly hospital.”
