POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious motorbike crash which resulted in a man suffering life threatening injuries.

A 19-year-old man was driving a blue Citroen C3 along Royston Lane in Carlton, heading towards the junction with Carlton Road, at around 11.35pm on Saturday, September 12.

At the same time, two men were riding a blue Suzuki 125 and a blue Extreme 125 on Church Street, in the direction towards Royston Lane.

The 25-year-old man riding the Suzuki and the 19-year-man riding the Citroen were involved in a crash at the junction with Carlton Road.

The Sazuki rider was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. His condition is believed to be stable but critical.

A police spokesperson said: "Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the manner of driving prior to the incident is asked to call 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 1283 of 12 September 2015."
