A MAN has collapsed and died in a Wombwell pub today (Monday, April 30.)
Police and ambulance crews were called to Locky's bar at Park Street, Wombwell, just before 2pm this afternoon after reports that a man had collapsed.
The man, thought to be aged in his forties, was treated by paramedics, but they were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed that he had suffered a heart attack.
A spokesman said: "Scenes of crime officers attended to conduct enquiries, as a matter of Force protocol, due to the incident being a sudden death in a public place. Other police enquiries are continuing."
