A FAMILY are holding a fun day on Saturday in Hoyland to raise money to provide a seizure sensor mat for a two-year-old girl - which could prove life saving.

Mother Kayleigh Kershaw told WAB that a few months ago her daughter Lola-Jade had a seizure in a local soft play area where she stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated.

She said: "Lola has been having seizures since from minor ones to where her breathing has been restricted.

"As a mother I am not sleeping at night for fear she may have one and not make it as I wouldn't know to be able to aid and support her through it."

Kayleigh's family and friends decided to take action. They have organised a fundraising day to buy Lola a sensor mat which would alert Kayleigh if she had a seizure during the night.

The family fun day takes place at the Potters in Hoyland from 12pm on Saturday, September 12. There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, karaoke, raffles, plus lots more.
