A SHELTERED housing scheme in Wombwell have held a special event to mark the completion of refurbishment work.
The main entrance of Shipcroft Sheltered Housing has been extended to provide a secure store for mobility scooters.
The communal lounge and kitchen have been transformed to create an open plan area, ideal for meetings and social events.
All the work was carried out by Berneslai Homes and is part of a £1.25million investment programme in 11 housing schemes across Barnsley.
Berneslai Homes Director of Customer and Estate Services, Dave Fullen, said: "These improvements make a lovely bright welcoming entrance and a spacious open plan area for residents and visitors to enjoy.
"I’d like to thank residents for their patience and understanding whilst works have been carried out."
