SOUTH Yorkshire Neighbourhood Watch received a cheque for £7,272 in Barnsley on Tuesday to help reduce vehicle and shed crime.
The funding has come from the South Yorkshire Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Dr Alan Billings.
It will be used to provide equipment in each of the four districts across South Yorkshire to help drive down and eliminate vehicle and shed crime.
Chair of Neighbourhood Watch John Hallows accepted the cheque from Dr Billings on Clarke Street in Barnsley.
Mr Hallows said: "This funding is much appreciated and will be put to good use for crime prevention in communities across South Yorkshire.”
Neighbourhood Watch currently has 3500 groups across South Yorkshire and are always looking for new members.
