A THURLSTONE man has created his very own Yorkshire Sculpture Garden at his home.
Jim Milner, who is a former shepherd and self-taught sculptor, has installed more than 20 pieces of his large works in the landscaped garden of his 19th century cottage.
The 62-year-old has had a lifelong fascination with geometry and started carving stone when he was just 16.
Jim said: “Being able to bring together my interest in geometry with art and my practical, hands-on skills as a farmer has been a dream come true.
“I carve in locally sourced sandstone and the finished pieces are positioned to reflect the light and make the best of the Yorkshire weather.”
People have been so interested in Jim's sculpture garden that he has started welcoming visitors to Rose Cottage by appointment.
