BARNSLEY by the Sea is sadly coming to an end but there is a chance for people to carry on the fun at home.
Members of the public are invited to bag a bit of Barnsley’s beach for just £2 a bag from 9am on Monday, August 17.
Coun Roy Miller said: “This event has been such a joy for hundreds of families who came along to have some fun in the sun. I’m pleased that people now have the opportunity to take a bit of the beach home.
“The sand is soft play sand and great for kids’ sandpits and play tables. Simply collect it from the former beach site, near Cheapside.”
All proceeds to be donated to Weston Park Hospital.
Saturday, August 15 will be the last day of Barnsley by the Sea.
