A HISTORIC town centre bridge will be demolished next week as part of redevelopment work.
Local residents are invited to watch Kendray Street bridge being demolished at 9am on Thursday, July 30.
A machine will take the parapet of the bridge off and then take the rest apart bit by bit over the whole day.
The bridge has been a town centre feature for over 30 years.
The whole of the Better Barnsley demolition work comprises:
Zero Ice, Kendray Street bridge, Market Parade footbridge, Central Offices main block, east and north access ramp to multi-storey car park, south ramp to multi-storey car park, multi-storey car park building, the Markets Offices and the TEC building.
