DARFIELD Library will be closed for one week from Thursday, July 30 to allow for essential maintenance work to be carried out to the roof.
No fines will be charged for the closure period and the library will reopen on Thursday, August 6.
Customers with a PIN number can renew their books online or return them to any Barnsley library.
Works to replace the roof are expected to continue for a further week. Any noise and disruptions will be kept to a minimum.
Through out the closure library members will be able to access the library’s extensive information service, e-audio collection and its new eBooks collection online.
To access computers during the closure, people are advised to visit nearby libraries including Wombwell, Hoyland or Goldthorpe.
