AN exciting new exhibition called Yorkshire Made Me arrives at the Cooper Gallery this weekend.

It celebrates some of the most famous men and women born in Yorkshire - many who were from Barnsley.

Visitors to the Church Street gallery can see portraits of a range of personalities and high profile people from around the county.

On display will be portraits of Dame Judi Dench, Dickie Bird, Sir Patrick Stewart, Brian Blessed and David Hockney.

At the exhibition people can also find out more about the people in the pictures, their achievements, success and their pride to be Yorkshire born.

There will be a drop in session between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday, July 18. The exhibition runs until Saturday, October 31.
