A COMMEMORATIVE plaque to honour those who lost their lives in the Afghanistan conflict will be unveiled in St Mary's Garden.

The special plaque has been commissioned by Councillor Joe Hayward, the Council's Armed Forces Champion.

It is engraved to honour the memory of Marine David Marsh, Captain Martin Driver and Private Matthew Thornton.

Families of those who lost their lives have been invited to attend the plaque unveiling by the Mayor at 2pm on Friday, July 17.

There will be a short service led by the Reverend Canon Stephen Race, Parish Priest for St Mary the Virgin.
