WORKS to improve Wellington Street, Pitt Street and Castlereagh Street in Barnsley town centre begin on Monday (July 13).

It will involve granite kerbs, paving, minor drainage improvements and improved crossing facilities on street corners including dropped kerbs and tactile paving.

There will also be footpath widening to improve crossing facilities at the junction of Castlereagh Street, along with new resurfacing and road markings.

It is estimated that the work will be going on for around four months.
