CHILDREN from Greenacre special school have been presented with a signed Barnsley FC shirt after completing an awareness course.

Pupils took park in the practical sessions run by Yorkshire Smokefree which showed how smoking can impact negatively on different parts of the body.

At the end of the three-week course the children of a variety of ages and abilities were asked to create posters to highlight the dangers of smoking.

Barnsley FC's mascot Toby Tyke met all the children and presented them with a signed shirt as a reward for their hardwork.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Smokefree said: “We’ve had some great feedback from the children who enjoyed both the sessions and getting to meet Toby.

"It was a wonderful experience for all involved and we’re very happy we got the chance to work with the school.”
