THERE will be two free events taking place for those wanting to get involved in this year's Mayors Parade.
The events will take place at the Better Barnsley shop on Cheapside on Saturday, July 4 and Saturday, July11.
At the drop-in sessions, which run twice a day from 10am to 12pm and later at 1pm to 3pm, visitors will be joined by a skilled artist.
This year’s theme is Barnsley by the sea and there will be everything available to make decorations such as posters, bunting and flags.
Coun Roy Miller said: “The Mayor’s Parade is a great community event. Families will have a wonderful time and it is a brilliant opportunity for local businesses and organisations to promote themselves, free of charge.”
