Nick Sharratt wows at The Civic for exhibition launch event

FAMILIES visited The Civic in Barnsley recently to meet children’s writer and illustrator Nick Sharratt and have their favourite books signed.

Last Saturday, June 28, The Civic hosted the exhibition launch event of Pirates, Pants and Wellyphants: The Illustrated World of Nick Sharratt.

The day long, free event also featured entertainment from animal balloon makers and independent artists.

Nick Sharratt, the man behind the instantly recognisable illustrations for Jacqueline Wilson’s Tracy Beaker books, interacted and explored the exhibition with visitors.

Year 3 pupils from Brierley Church of England Primary School and Barnsley’s own Sam Nixon, CBBC presenter and MasterChef contestant, also attended the launch event.

Pirates, Pants and Wellyphants: The Illustrated World of Nick Sharratt will be at The Civic until Saturday, August 22.
