BARNSLEY Council has supported 645 vulnerable families since 2012 as part of a Government scheme.

The Troubled Families programme’s latest figures have been released by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Barnsley Council work with partners to help children back into school, adults into employment or on a path back to work. As well as working to tackle youth crime and anti-social behaviour.

Coun Jenny Platts said: “It’s great that so many families in our borough have been able to make positive changes to their lives.

"This is a great example of working with partners to offer families targeted early intervention and prevention support to improve their life chances.”
