A WOMAN had to be rescued by firefighters after she became trapped when a fire broke out at her home in Worsbrough on Saturday.
Three fire crews were called to the incident on Park Road just before 2am.
When crews arrived, they found the fire contained in a downstairs living room, however the end terraced house was fully smoke logged.
A man had safely climbed out onto a flat roof but a woman was trapped inside.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the house and found the woman unconscious in a bedroom. They carried her outside and gave her first aid to bring her round.
The woman was taken by ambulance to hospital and fire crews used hose reels to put the fire out. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
