A LOCAL community group is calling on gardening volunteers to help with the maintenance of flower beds at Wilthorpe Park.
The park has been entered into the Yorkshire in Bloom competition in July, so more volunteers are needed to make sure it’s a budding success at this year’s event.
The rose garden, circular and triangular sensory beds are looked after by the Friends of Wilthorpe Park with added help from the local school and children's centres.
The group meets every Saturday from 10am to 11am but needs more volunteers to help with the digging, preparing and planting of the beds.
Along with more volunteers, the group is also in need of shrubs and plants to help fill the beds.
