A FILM commissioned by Experience Barnsley, called Women of the Working Class, has won another award.

The animated short film was made by young women from the youth panel at Experience Barnsley Museum to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1984/85 Miners’ Strike.

It was made with support from children's animation story artist David Bunting whose credits include Shaun the Sheep and Bob the Builder.

Alongside awards from the British Film Industry, My Hero International Film Festival, California and International Family Film Festival in Hollywood, it has also received first place in the sixth International Children and Youth Animation Film Festival in Varaždin.

Coun Roy Miller said: “The awards keep stacking up for this fantastic film. It is wonderful to see it recognised once again. The win is a real testament to the women who worked on it and my thanks go to David for all his support.”
