A VOLUNTEER from DEBRA charity shop in Barnsley celebrated her 90th birthday on Monday (June 1).

Ilma Cole still regularly volunteers at the shop on Market Street and enjoys cutting the buttons off the rag stock to sell.

Her colleagues presented her with a cake and flowers on her birthday which marked the start of Volunteers Week.

DEBRA is a national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa - a painful genetic skin blistering condition.

Area Manager Susan Davison said: “We are delighted that Ilma enjoys volunteering with us. Here at DEBRA we are sincerely grateful for the hard work and dedication shown by our staff members and volunteers."
