A FOSTERING information evening will take place at Barnsley Town Hall on Wednesday, June 24.

There is a particular need for foster carers in Barnsley to look after older children, sibling groups and children with additional needs.

Local authorities across South Yorkshire are working together to create a county-wide specialist fostering service for children who have suffered the effects of child sexual exploitation.

The fostering team would particularly welcome enquiries from potential foster carers who would be interested in developing their skills in this area.

Coun Margaret Bruff said: “The fostering team’s monthly information evenings offer the opportunity for interested people to ask questions and talk to the team and existing foster carers who can offer advice and real experiences.”

The information evening will take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
