A SPEED camera on a busy road could be moved elsewhere after safety bosses admitted it is in the wrong place.
The camera on Halifax Road in Thurgoland has been at the centre of a campaign from parish councillors who have said its in the wrong place because traffic is naturally slowing ahead of the crossroads traffic lights a short distance ahead.
South Yorkshire's Safety Camera Partnership said the existing camera is in the wrong place and analysis work has been going on in the area to monitor the extent of speeding problem.
The partnership is reviewing speed cameras across Barnsley because the current organisation inherited many of the existing cameras from local authorities and they may no longer be deemed to be suitable for current enforcement needs.
