RISING Stars Children’s Centre at Worsbrough Common will operate as an outreach site for early help for families but will stop delivering nursery provision.

Barnsley Council confirmed that under its proposed new family centres model, Rising Stars will deliver a range of services on a timetabled basis, supported by outreach workers.

The council said nursing provision from the centre would be stopped as there is other provision in the local area run by the private and voluntary sectors.

You can give your views on the proposed model by completing a questionnaire on the council's website. Printed copies of the questionnaire are available from the borough’s children’s centres.

The final proposal will be subject to cabinet approval in the autumn and the new family centres will open next April.
