A BARNSLEY drug dealer has been ordered to pay back almost £20,000 that he had made through his criminal activity.
Shane Darlington, 32, of Park Grove, was jailed for five years in July 2014 for possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Darlington was ordered to pay back £19,282 at a hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday (May 21).
He must pay back the money within six months or face a further two months in prison and he will still have to pay the money.
Speaking about the Proceeds of Crime Act, Detective Constable Steve Ramsbottom said: “This is another example of how police and the courts can and will deprive prominent criminals of their ill gotten gains alongside the sentences handed down to them.”
